The 1856 Seated Liberty Quarter is a 90% silver United States coin.  90% silver United States coin whose value ranges dramatically  depending heavily on its mint mark, physical condition, and specific design varieties. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the 1856 issue marked the return to a simpler design, completely removing the "arrows at date" configuration utilized from 1853 to 1855.
