Nice note solid Fine with no pin holes.
United States Fractional Currency was a type of paper currency that was used in the United States between 1862 and 1876. During this time, coins were in short supply due to the demands of the American Civil War. To fill the gap, the U.S. government began issuing paper notes in smaller denominations, including 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 50 cents. These notes were smaller than regular currency and were printed on both sides to discourage counterfeiting. They featured portraits of various historical figures, including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and William Meredith. Fractional currency was widely used during its time, but was eventually discontinued due to an increase in the supply of coins. Today, United States Fractional Currency remains a fascinating and collectible piece of American currency history.
