Brooks Robinson is widely considered the greatest defensive third baseman in Major League Baseball history. Nicknamed "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" and "Mr. Hoover," Robinson played his entire 23-year career (1955–1977) with the Baltimore Orioles. He revolutionized defensive expectations at the "hot corner," setting baseline major league records for games, putouts, assists, and double plays at third base. He passed away on September 26, 2023, at the age of 86.
