Rod Carew is a legendary Panamanian-American former Major League Baseball (MLB) infielder who is widely regarded as one of the greatest contact hitters in baseball history. Over a spectacular 19-year playing career spanning from 1967 to 1985, Carew amassed 3,053 hits, won seven American League (AL) batting titles, and was selected to 18 consecutive All-Star games. He spent his career with the Minnesota Twins and the ⁠Los Angeles Angels. In August 2024, at age 78, Carew fulfilled a lifelong dream by officially becoming a U.S. citizen. He recently attended the Baseball Hall of Fame’s July 2026 induction ceremony in Cooperstown.
